Pod Save the UK is a weekly political news podcast hosted by Nish Kumar and Coco Khan, produced by Crooked Media in partnership with Reduced Listening. I have edited a number of episodes of the show on a freelance basis since February 2024. With the video edit turned around in a single day, the role requires the ability to work well under pressure, as well as great prioritisation and team-working skills, since the process of refining the editorial involves working closely with the show’s team of producers.
I also occasionally work as a covering Assistant Producer on the show, working closely with senior producer James Tindale, assistant producer May Robson, and executive producer Anishka Sharma. I have written research briefs, generated ideas, assisted with writing and fact-checking scripts and helped with general pre-production admin. On recording days I have dressed the studio, taken shot notes, monitored for continuity, and completed general assistance tasks for Nish and Coco.
