I was fortunate to play a part in producing two series of Serpentine Podcast: REWORLDING, released in January 2023, and INTIMACIES, published in August 2023.
I supported lead producer Kit Callin at Reduced Listening by researching guests, recording interviews on location and remotely, producing studio recording sessions, editing and sound designing episodes, co-writing scripts, and directing voice actors.
Working on this project was an opportunity to explore some wonderfully rich and expansive themes, including the importance of relationships, remembering and play, and intimacy with the self and with our surroundings.
I also had the great pleasure of working with inspiring guests including Lina Ghotmeh, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Gabriel Massan, Zing Tsjeng and Richard Sennett. The lovely team at Serpentine even turned my interview with Richard into this article.
In addition to production work on the Serpentine Podcast, I had the opportunity to support audio producer Jesse Lawson in running two presenter training sessions for the curatorial team at Serpentine in January 2023.
I also recorded audio guides for a number of Serpentine exhibitions: Kamala Ibrahim-Ishag: States of Oneness, Barbara Chase Riboud: Infinite Folds, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster: Alienarium 5, as well as Radio Ballads, which allowed me to go beyond the traditional curatorial approach and experiment with montage and textural, immersive sound design. Serpentine’s audio guides are available on the Bloomberg Connects app, while the Radio Ballads ‘sound objects’ can also be heard here, accompanied by writer Priya Jay’s beautiful responses.
