Things I’ve Learnt

Things I’ve Learnt‘ is a new podcast by Mix Interiors, a leading platform in the space of commercial interiors. The podcast delves into what some of the design industry’s greatest leaders and disruptors see as the most important lessons they’ve learnt in work and in life, and explores how their inner worlds and visions translate into the world we see around us.

I produced the show’s first season, working closely with Reduced Listening‘s head of production, Dan Jackson, to develop the format. My responsibilities as producer included research, script writing/editing, remote episode recording via Riverside, and editing video and audio episodes as two distinct deliverables. I also had the joy of scoring the show using original music by the talented Memotone.

Aside from full-length episodes, I also produced and edited trailers in audio and video. Alongside this, the project was an opportunity to share my skills in video editing with an audio producer colleague at Reduced Listening, supporting them in diversifying their skillset. I also offered personalised advice and guidance to Harry McKinley – Mix Interior’s Managing Editor and the host of Things I’ve Learnt – in identifying the best kit for recording, and getting the most out of it.

My personal favourite episodes are with Afroditi Krassa, the designer behind Dishoom and itsu, and Google DeepMind’s principal research scientist, Ali Eslami:
